Kari Heath and Craigslist

Many people are remarkably stupid when it comes to the Internet.

Case in point: Woman charged after posting fake profile of man on Craigslist

A woman has been charged with a felony in Eau Claire County for allegedly posting a profile of her ex-boyfriend on Craigslist under "casual encounters."

Twenty-year-old Kari Heath of Strum faces a charge of causing harm through identity theft, which could send her to prison for three years if convicted.

Police say the profile on the Internet Web site indicated the man wanted other men to call him at work and "talk dirty."

When the man got a call at work from an unknown male who saw the Craigslist personal ad, the ex-boyfriend went on line and saw his profile and pictures. Then he called Altoona police.

Really stupid.

Heath probably didn't expect her ex-boyfriend, Joseph Strasburg, to contact police and tell them that she was responsible.

I think it's safe to assume that there's no chance the couple will reconcile.

More on Kari Heath.
According to the criminal complaint:

The former boyfriend called Altoona police after he got a call at work from an unknown male who said he was calling in reference to his ad on Craigslist. The caller hung up when the former boyfriend said he didn't know what the caller was talking about.

Craigslist is a centralized network of online communities featuring free classified advertisements.

The former boyfriend found the listing, which included several photos of him. He didn't think anyone besides Heath would have had those photos.

The former boyfriend said he received a text message from Heath in which she admitted placing the ad on Craigslist.

Heath told police she placed the ad after getting into an argument with her former boyfriend on Feb. 2.

Here's Heath's Spock profile, when she was eighteen.
My name is Kari. I'm 18 and I have a wonderful and amazing other half. His name is Brandon. He's 21 and as most of you already know (but for those of you who don't) we are expecting our first child. Our little one will be born in October. We are very excited and happy. We are going to wait until the baby is born to know the sex. We are very thankful for our family and friends who have all been really supportive and excited as well.
