Everyone with half a brain knows it will take BOTH spending cuts AND increased revenue to get out of this mess. Your side prides itself on its refusal to negotiate and many of your elected reps have actually singed OATHS to not raise taxes (which, by the way, is likely illegal as this allegiance interferes with their oath of office).
That looks like perfect fodder for whomever is Obama's 2012 challenger.
His only excuse these days is to remind his supporters that "change is hard" and that he didn't promise "change tomorrow or next week - it takes time".
Lame. His inflated sense of self led him to make promises that he simply can't keep.
