From Politico:
President Barack Obama will not attend Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral on Saturday, the White House said Wednesday.
Very bad, but completely true to form.

Four of the last seven funeral for sitting SC justices have NOT been attended by the sitting president.
ReplyDeleteYou toss that out as though it's justification for Obama to make a political statement by refusing to honor Scalia by attending his funeral.
ReplyDeleteYou must know that the death of a sitting justice is not a regular occurrence. On the modern court, it's a rarity.
Only two sitting justices have died in the last 60 years, Rehnquist and Scalia. George W. Bush attended Rehnquist's funeral and eulogized him.
Obama's decision to skip Scalia's funeral says volumes about the kind of man he is.
