Threatening to kill someone is not protected by the First Amendment. That sort of speech is not protected.

Moreover, as Sen. Tim Scott says, "Your First Amendment rights do not include a right to a job!"

Employers can determine whether or not they want to employ individuals making vile comments in a public forum, on a social media platform. Not every business or institution wants to employ people cheering assassination and calling for more people to be put to death.
