Oprah at the White House

Sunday night will be Obama night on network TV.

First up, ANOTHER interview on 60 Minutes, 6:00 PM CT on CBS. Obama sits down with Steve Kroft AGAIN.

[Obama] spoke to 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft about the bonuses in an interview in which he is also extensively questioned on his Afghanistan plans for the first time, discusses the economy, jobs and addresses the breach in security at the White House state dinner.

That's just the opening act. The main event will air at 9:00 PM CT on ABC, Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special.
Oprah Winfrey will usher in the holidays at the White House, visiting President Obama and the First Lady as they prepare for their family's first Christmas there...

The intimate, informative and entertaining hour-long special will include a one-on-one conversation with the President, marking the first time Oprah has interviewed him since he took office, as well as an exclusive sit-down interview with the First Couple. The special will showcase behind-the-scenes preparations as the White House gets ready for the holiday season.

Some details from Oprah's historic interview with this historic president and historic first lady about their historic Christmas at the White House, from the Chicago Tribune:
The first family and the first lady of daytime television sat in the Green Room of the White House for an interview in a mansion decorated with 27 trees for Christmas.

"What are you going to get me?" the first lady asks the president, according to transcripts released Friday by Harpo Productions. "You should feel pressure. ..."

"I have given some good gifts -- you get some nice stuff," the president tells his wife during the interview, which airs Sunday at 9 p.m. CST. "Here's the general rule: I give nicer stuff than I get."

"Really?" Winfrey asks.

"No way," the first lady says. "I gave you good gifts last year."

"Absolutely -- aw come on please," the president says. "You know, its like Mother's Day and Father's Day."

"We're talking about Christmas, don't become distracted," the first lady says.

"But that principle applies generally," the president says.

So, with the Obama family celebrating its first Christmas in the White House, who all has stockings?

"Everyone," the first lady says. "The president, the first lady, Malia, Sasha and Bo."

"Bo has a stocking?" Winfrey asks.

"Bo has a stocking. Of course he does."

"How lovely," Winfrey notes.

"Santa loves Bo too," the first lady says.

"Bo got a good home," Winfrey suggests. "Bo did OK."

Oh, the gushing!
