Questlove, drummer for The Roots, band for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, posted a photo of NBC's lunch menu on Twitter.
The network is celebrating Black History Month with some special offerings.
Unbelievable.
What? No watermelon?
I guess NBC isn't very post-racial. What would be the reaction if a menu like this were posted at FOX News?
From New York Magazine:
According to a person tweeting under the handle "nbcu" and purporting to be NBC's vice-president of communications Kevin Goldman, "The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it."

Black Eyed Peas are a New Years Day Tradition. As for the rest of this crap, I don't know what it has to do with Black folks. All I know is that it wasn't a Black person that came up with this menu.
That is a horrid thing to display.
What are they thinking? Oh, I forgot, NBC doesn't THINK. Just look at the Leno/O'Brien fiasco. This is degrading. On the OTHER hand...Do the Irish get upset when menus feature corned beef, cabbage, green beer and soda bread on St. Patrick's Day?
All in all, maybe the foods, NBC listed, should be made available EVERY day. Also, what I REALLY want to know is, do African Americans hate being referred to as being "black?" If so,what's up with "BLACK History Month?"
Of course, different holidays and events are celebrated with certain foods, but those haven't been used in a negative stereotypical manner like fried chicken.
I don't see the black v. African American thing as the problem in this case. Obama often refers to himself as black. It's not as if that term has been ruled offensive.
