A "lid" is called by a campaign to signal that the candidate is done making news for the day. Meaning Joe Biden is in his basement to stay for the day.

I guess traveling to Manitowoc yesterday was a bit too much for Joe Biden. At just over forty days before the election, Biden takes another day off.

This is not unusual at all for the tuckered out Joe Biden.

Last Saturday, Biden finished his campaign day at 8:35 AM.

The Biden campaign has called a lid at 8:35am, per pool. So we won’t see Joe Biden today.

At 9:20 AM, September 8, 2020, the day after Labor Day, the Biden campaign had one statement - calling a lid.

Calling a lid has been a hallmark of Biden's campaign. 

Biden is too weak to campaign. He's too weak to be president.
