This, of course, is ridiculous. Kamala Harris is the sitting vice president. This notion that she needed to be introduced to Americans is laughable. Americans overwhelmingly disapproved of Harris. After the coup, after she was installed as the Democrat nominee, her approval rating miraculously skyrockets. It's possible the polls are wrong.
