Listen to audio from six 911 calls
These calls give a glimpse into the horror of the scene.
It's extremely difficult to listen to the panic in the callers' voices and the chaos that can be overheard in the background.
I can't imagine what horror it must have been to witness a fellow church member, Terry Ratzmann, open fire during the service.
What's notable about the audio is how poised the 911 operators remain as the callers describe the massacre at the meeting of the Living Church of God. Their calm and professionalism is remarkable. They performed their duties in a positively exemplary fashion. They are truly unsung heroes.
My heart goes out to the families and friends of the victims of the shootings. May they all find comfort in their faith.
