Dr. Dean's Desperation

From NewsMax:

DNC Posts Fake DeLay Mugshot

The Democratic National Committee is distributing a fake mug shot of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay as part of its concerted effort to drive him from office.

The photo, featuring a smiling DeLay behind the words "Case File," includes the superimposed number "18821" - all designed to give the impression that the top Republican had been arrested and charged with a crime.

Next to the bogus photo, which is posted to the DNC's web site, a headline reads: "Scandal Man: A Guide to the Ethics Violations, Abuses of Power and Corruption of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay."

The DNC's fake photo notwithstanding, DeLay has not been charged, let alone arrested, in connection with any of the allegations touted by Democrats and their handmaidens in the media - and has never been implicated in any criminal activity.

Let's compare this to the Tom DeLay suicide t-shirt.

The t-shirt was an incredibly foul creation. However, it can be dismissed as the product of a lone wingnut, not a barometer of the Democratic Party.

The DeLay mugshot is a different story. It is proudly posted on the DNC website. The buck stops with Dr. Dean. He apparently has no problem with such a crass display.
tasteless t-shirts and a goofy fake mugshot are made as part of the effort to bring DeLay down.

What do the Dems think will happen if their lynch mob succeeds and DeLay steps down?

The balance of power on Capitol Hill won't shift. With all due respect to the senator, his absence wouldn't be all that significant. What's the point of dogging him this way?

The left--the Dems and the mainstream media--are expending an unbelievable amount of energy on the "Get DeLay" movement.

Why not put their energy into something positive?

It appears the DNC is an attack machine, lacking any vision for America. The substance of the current firestorm of allegations directed at DeLay is getting lost in the flaming lunacy of these bizarre trinkets.

If tasteless t-shirts and a goofy fake mugshot are required to bring DeLay down, it may be that the Dems see a need for the accusations to be trumped up, that they are not damning enough to stand on their own.

This is the state of the Democrats--DESPERATE.
