On Monday night, Hannity and Colmes will air an interview with Vice President Dick Cheney.
He has some tough words for Howard Dean.
From FOX:
"I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does. He's never won anything, as best I can tell," Cheney said in an interview to be aired Monday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."
...In recent weeks, Dean has described the GOP as "pretty much a white, Christian party" and said many Republicans have "never made an honest living." Republican leaders have called on him to apologize, and even some Democrats have distanced themselves from his remarks.
"So far, I think he's probably helped us more than he has them," Cheney said in the interview taped Friday. "That's not the kind of individual you want to have representing your political party."
The vice president added: "I really think Howard Dean's over the top. And more important ... I think many of his fellow Democrats feel the same way."
It's a smart move to have Cheney get out there and weigh in on Dean's insanity. He's simply pointing out the common ground he shares with Democrats like Pelosi and Biden. The Dems can't really criticize Cheney for essentially saying what they've already said.
Karen Finney, a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee, objected to Cheney's characterization of Dean.
"Governor Dean must be doing something right if the vice president of the United States would stoop so low as to use the governor's mother as a way to deflect from answering the concerns of the American people," Finney said Sunday. "It's no wonder President Bush's approval ratings are at an all-time low."
Does anyone else see the irony in a spokeswoman for the DNC whining that Cheney "would stoop so low as to use the governor's mother" in his response to a question?
Recall John Kerry repeatedly invoking Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter, Mary, at every opportunity during the campaign. Of course, he managed to work his Vietnam service into nearly everything he said; but he also exploited Mary Cheney a lot.
At the final presidential debate, the candidates were asked if they thought that homosexuality is a choice. President Bush did not mention Mary Cheney in his response. Kerry, however, jumped at the chance to dwell on the Vice President's daughter's sexual orientation in the debate, saying, "If you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as."
John Edwards did the same thing during the vice presidential debate.
Did Karen Finney think that Kerry and Edwards "stooped so low" by bringing Mary Cheney into those debates? I'm confident that her spin was dramatically different in those cases.
The Dems are in total disarray. The party is a mess.
I agree with Vice President Cheney. Dr. Dean is "not the kind of individual you want to have representing your political party." He is the kind of individual I want representing the Democratic Party.
I love Dr. Dean!

Recall Sean Hannity last year to the Democrats... "Please... Please... please make my year and make Dean your party chairman."
