London Attacks: Crime or Act of War

Transcript excerpt

ROVE: Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding to our attackers.

CLARK: This needs to be a discussion about religion, about God, about the Koran, and about what God expects of His men and women and children on earth -- and it's going to have to be argued out within Islam. Those of us who are not Islamic are not going to be able to participate directly in this dialogue, but we've got to hope it occurs and we've got to give support and encouragement to those who believe as we do that there's just no excuse for murdering innocent people. That's all it is. It's a crime. It's horrible, and it's got to be stopped.

RUSH: I submit to you that Karl Rove was 120% right. Here's Ashley Wilkes wanting to convene, basically, a therapy session and saying that this is "murder." That's all it is. "It's a crime." They need to be indicted and they need to be tried. He doesn't think it's an act of war. He doesn't see it in any way -- and he wants to have a meeting. It's a crime and he wants to have a meeting. He wants all these terrorists to get together with other terrorists and start talking to themselves about the Koran.

Is it any wonder Michael Moore, cheerleader for the Iraqi Minutemen (insurgents), and Madonna endorsed Clark for president?

In a few sentences, Clark proved Rove to be completely accurate in his assessment of the liberal response to an act of terrorism.

(Clark really does bear a striking resemblance to Ashley Wilkes.)
