Progressive Julianne Malveaux

Who is Julianne Malveaux?

According to her own website:

Recognized for her provocative, progressive and insightful observations, Dr. Julianne Malveaux, an economist, author and commentator, is the President and CEO of Last Word Productions, Inc, a multimedia production company. Described by Dr. Cornel West as “the most iconoclastic public intellectual in the country”, Dr. Malveaux’s contributions to the public dialogue on issues such as race, culture, gender, and their economic impacts, are helping to shape public opinion in 21st century America.

As a writer and syndicated columnist, her work appears regularly in USA Today, Black Issues in Higher Education, Ms. magazine, Essence magazine, and the Progressive. Her weekly columns appear in numerous newspapers across the country including the Los Angeles Times, the Charlotte Observer, the New Orleans Tribune, the Detroit Free Press, and the San Francisco Examiner.

Well-known for appearances on national network programs, Dr. Malveaux is a charismatic and popular guest on a variety of shows. She appears regularly on CNN, BET, as well as on Howard University’s Television show, Evening Exchange. She has appeared on PBS’s To The Contrary, ABC’s Politically Incorrect, Fox News Channel’s O’Reilly Factor and stations such as C-SPAN, MSNBC and CNBC. She has also hosted talk radio programs in Washington, San Francisco, and New York.

At a glance, Malveaux's resume has an impressive array of accomplishments.

Of course, "progressive" tips one off to her politics. In my experience, I've found anyone employing that term is usually liberal, VERY liberal.

Such is the case with Malveaux.

During a radio interview on Monday with Sean Hannity, she revealed just how frighteningly extremist the American radical Left has become.

Some highlights:

1) Malveaux called President Bush "a terrorist."

2) According to her, America is "a terrorist nation."

3) She accused U.S. troops of "beating" terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay.

4) She said, "Terrorism in the United States is as old as we are. You want me to give you a litany of terrorism? You want me to start with what's happened to the Indian population? You want to go on to what happened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1921?"

5) Malveaux argued, "C'mon now, Sean. We are terrorists."

6) When asked point-blank if the U.S. was a "terrorist nation," Malveaux shot back: "Oh, Absolutely."

7) Malveaux assessed, "The chickens have come home to roost," in an apparent reference to the 9/11 attacks.

8) Asked if America was "a good country," Malveaux responded tersely, "We're a country." Pressed on why she omitted the adjective "good," she replied: "I can't answer that. I think we have some good and I think we have some evil."

9) Regarding the Iraq war and WMD, Malveaux told Hannity, "You know they weren't there. I know they weren't there."

10) Malveaux concluded, "George W. Bush is evil. He is a terrorist. He is evil. He is arrogant. And he is out of control."

Are these the type of "progressive and insightful observations" that her website claims has established her as a renowned figure and one of our country's intellectuals?

Is this the sort of stuff Malveaux uses while "helping to shape public opinion in 21st century America"?

I'd call it hate speech, not insightful commentary.

I would classify her words as anti-American and treasonous.

I wonder if she was burning an American flag while proclaiming the U.S. to be a "terrorist nation."

It amazes me that she writes for USA Today, the same publication that found Ann Coulter's work unfit to print last summer during the Democratic National Convention.

Malveaux should have her own show on Al Jazeera.
