FOX reports:
The mother of missing U.S. teen Natalee Holloway begged authorities Tuesday not to let two Surinamese brothers leave Aruba after they were released as suspects in the probe.
"Do not allow these two ... to enter your country until this case is solved," Beth Holloway Twitty said during a public plea delivered to reporters at the Holiday Inn hotel in Aruba where her daughter was staying before she vanished.
"I am asking this in the name of my beautiful, intelligent and outstanding daughter whom I haven't seen in 36 days," Holloway Twitty urged.
There are concerns that the Kalpoe brothers intend to leave Aruba, fleeing while they have the chance.
Whatever information they have is critical in getting to the truth about Natalee's disappearance. At the very least, they need to be available to act as witnesses if Joran van der Sloot is charged with murder.
Beth Holloway Twitty's pleas make sense.
Beyond the criminal case, this has become an international matter. By releasing the Kalpoes and detaining van der Sloot, I think Aruba is trying to pacify Americans troubled by the handling of the investigation. I suspect it won't be too much longer until van der Sloot is released. Although it was claimed that under Dutch law there could be a prosecution without a body, I doubt that will happen.
What kind of case would there be if two people that were with Natalee the night she went missing were not around to testify?
With the Kalpoes gone, Joran van der Sloot would have a "get out of jail free" pass.
