As the Left organizes various events to protest the war in Iraq, as Cindy Sheehan plans her latest stunt for the media, as Dems call for the U.S. to cut and run, the terrorism in the Middle East continues.
JERUSALEM (AP) -- The Islamic Jihad group has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing in the Israeli town of Hadera, saying it was carried out in retaliation for the killing of a militant leader by Israeli troops.
At least four people were killed and dozens hurt in the blast in the Hadera market.
In a phone call to The Associated Press, Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility, saying it was avenging the killing of Luay Saadi, leader of the group's military wing in the West Bank.
...A suicide bomber blew himself up next to a food stand in the central Israeli town of Hadera, killing four and wounding at least 20 people and leaving a path of destruction at an open air market, police said.
Ambulances rushed to the scene after the explosion at the crowded entrance to a store in the market, Israel Radio reported.
Police said [it] was a suicide bombing and went off at a falafel stand next to the central bus station.
Rescue teams were treating the wounded in a nearby field.
Once again, innocents were slaughtered in Israel.
Remember, the terrorism that plagues the people of Israel rises from the same mindset that caused fanatics to hijack civilian airliners and use them as missiles to kill 3000 people on September 11, 2001.
MILITANT ISLAM AND THE NATIONS THAT SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT BY HARBORING IT PRESENT A DANGER TO DEMOCRACY, FREEDOM, AND THE UNITED STATES.
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad weighed in today on the prospect of peace in the Middle East.
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) -- Iran's hard-line president called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and said a new wave of Palestinian attacks will destroy the Jewish state, state-run media reported Wednesday.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also denounced attempts to recognize Israel or normalize relations with it.
"There is no doubt that the new wave (of attacks) in Palestine will wipe off this stigma (Israel) from the face of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad told students Wednesday during a Tehran conference called "The World without Zionism."
"Anybody who recognizes Israel will burn in the fire of the Islamic nation's fury, (while) any (Islamic leader) who recognizes the Zionist regime means he is acknowledging the surrender and defeat of the Islamic world," Ahmadinejad said.
Gee, do you think this guy will be nominated for the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize?
Iran's president is equating the existence of Israel with the defeat of Islam. Ahmadinejad condemns any Islamic leader willing to work for peace. His statements are unconditional. He insists that there will be no peace in the Middle East that includes a free, democratic nation like Israel.
Moreover, Militant Islam will allow no peace for the United States as long as we defend democracy and fight tyranny.
Ahmadinejad also repeated the words of the founder of Iran's Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who called for the destruction of Israel.
"As the imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map," said Ahmadinejad, who came to power in August and replaced Mohammad Khatami, a reformist who advocated international dialogue and tried to improve Iran's relations with the West.
Ahmadinejad referred to Israel's recent withdrawal from the Gaza Strip as a "trick," saying Gaza was already a part of Palestinian lands and the pullout was designed to win acknowledgment of Israel by Islamic states.
I think it's ironic that President Bush and the administration are criticized for taking the stand that the United States will not negotiate with terrorists. These critics, mostly Dems and other nuanced libs, fail to acknowledge that the terrorists refuse to negotiate.
Apparently, Israel's painful withdrawal from Gaza, exemplifying the nation's willingness to compromise in the name of peace, was pointless.
The only road map to peace that Militant Islam follows is the destruction of the infidels. (Don't forget that Americans are infidels.)
"The fighting in Palestine is a war between the (whole) Islamic nation and the world of arrogance," Ahmadinejad said, using Tehran's propaganda epithet for the United States and Israel. "Today, Palestinians are representing the Islamic nation against arrogance."
Iran does not recognize the existence of Israel and has often called for its destruction.
...Harsh words for Israel are common in Iran, especially at this time of year, the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In Iran, this Friday _ the last Muslim day of prayer in the Ramadan holiday _ has been declared Quds Day, or Jerusalem Day. Rallies were slated in support of Palestinians _ and against Israel's occupation of parts of the city and other Palestinian lands.
This makes no sense to me.
Celebrating the holy month of Ramadan by calling for death and destruction is twisted. Such statements endorsing violence make it very difficult to view Islam as a religion of peace, particularly when moderate Muslims do not loudly and clearly condemn this hatred promoted by radical fundamentalists.
Using Ramadan, the most holy month for Muslims, as an opportunity to spread an ideology of terror is sick.
Is this what Islam is about?
Other Iranian politicians also have issued anti-Israeli statements, in attempts to whip up support for Friday's nationwide Quds Day demonstrations.
But Ahmadinejad's strident anti-Israeli statements on the eve of the demonstration were harsher than those issued during the term of the reformist Khatami and harkened back to Khomeini's fiery speeches. Ahmadinejad was a longtime member of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, which even operates a division dubbed the Quds Division, a rhetorical reference to Tehran's hopes of one day ending Israel's domination of Islam's third-holiest city.
After his election, Ahmadinejad received the support of the powerful hard-line Revolutionary Guards, who report directly to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Last year, a senior member of the guards attended a meeting that called for and accepted applications for suicide bombers to target U.S. troops and Israelis.
These terrorist thugs, including super thug Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, that seek to destroy Israel, adhere to the same ideology that hatched the 9/11 plot.
Militant Islam is an enemy of freedom.
I thought American Leftists were supposed to be so intelligent, so superior, so enlightened. If that's the case, why are they unable to understand how critical success in Iraq is to undercutting this movement of hate and intolerance and terror?
Leftists do not get the fact that Militant Islam has been at war with the FREE WORLD for years. They are incapable of connecting the dots, so they want to cut and run from Iraq and the Middle East in general.
Leftists do not grasp that when they undermine the War on Terror and the mission that our troops are bravely conducting, they undermine our security.
Obviously, the oh so nuanced Leftists do not comprehend the global nature of Militant Islam's CULTURE OF INTOLERANCE.
In their cluelessness, radical Leftist Dems are complicit in attacking freedom--OUR FREEDOM.
