Kohl's War Chest

Does the Republican Party of Wisconsin know what time it is?

IT'S TIME TO OFFER THE PEOPLE OF WISCONSIN A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR THE U.S. SENATE.

It's July. The election is in November.

The Party has obviously determined that it would be a waste of money to direct any funds into a campaign to challenge Kohl.

I think the reason Herb Kohl's mountain of money seems insurmountable to them is because it is.

The source of 95.8% of his campaign funds is from his personal fortune.

According to
opensecrets.org and the Center for Responsive Politics, Kohl has donated $5,205,000 to himself.

Only $4,631 came from individual contributions.

That's amazing. Just 0.1% of his funds came from people writing personal checks. Why would anyone bother? It's so unnecessary to contribute to the Kohl campaign.

If we're talking about money, Kohl is untouchable. He is in the black, indelibly.

But if we're talking about ideas and what he stands for, Kohl is in the red.

Nonetheless, the Republican Party of WI has conceded Kohl's victory already, and it's not even the Fourth of July yet.

This proves that money can't buy everything, but it can buy a U.S. Senate seat.
