NEW TERROR PLOT: The Left Reacts

How are those on the fringe Left reacting to the news that a massive terror plot, intended to kill thousands, has been disrupted?

Instead of praising the victory, some are using the opportunity to whine about Bush administration policies.

A comment left on one of my previous posts:

Welp, LAW ENFORCEMENT did it's job and got these guys, meanwhile the MILITARY continues it's misassignment in Iraq and Afghanistan as those nations continue to fail.

Looks like LAW ENFORCEMENT is going to have it's hands full for a long while while WE MAKE NEW TERRORISTS in the Middle East.

(Oh, and by the way, read the constitution, you moron. We are not at war.)

This is typical.

Is it a surprise that a lib would whine about the military being "misassigned" in Iraq?

No. They always do. Everything is about Iraq.

However, usually those on the radical Left don't complain about our military being in Afghanistan. Even someone like Russ Feingold doesn't dub that military operation to be a "misassignment."

Obviously, the commentator believes that the 9/11 attacks, and terrorism in general, should be dealt with as a law enforcement matter rather than considering them to be acts of war.

Do you recall when DNC chairman Howard Dean said that Osama bin Laden should get his day in court and be presumed innocent until proven guilty?

Dean and those of his ilk think the proper response to the terrorist threat is to let law enforcement and our legal system manage the problem. That's a rather weak, disproportionate response, in my opinion.

It's a dangerous response and potentially fatal for thousands of innocents.

Furthermore, the tired, old argument that we're making new terrorists is so lame.

Questions for all the soft on terror among the hard Left:

Who made the terrorists that bombed the WTC in 1993, Saudia Arabia in 1995 and the Khobar Towers in 1996, the U.S. embassies in Africa in 1998, and the USS Cole in 2000?

Who made the terrorists that destroyed the WTC, took out a section of the Pentagon, murdered every passenger aboard United Flight 93, and slaughtered nearly three thousand people?

The Bush administration didn't make them. U.S. military presence in Afghanistan and Iraq didn't make those terrorists.

The Russ Feingold - John Kerry - Ned Lamont wing of the Democratic party doesn't get it. The cut and run appeasers don't understand the ruthless nature of our enemies.

Clinton didn't get. Madeleine Albright didn't get it. They didn't comprehend the gravity of the threat.

WE ARE AT WAR.

The fringe Left aren't comfortable with acknowledging
the fact that Islamic fundamentalists declared war on the United States years ago, committing multiple acts of terror during the Clinton administration.

The law enforcement strategy didn't solve the problem, did it?

What's really troubling is that it seems some on the Left are ticked off that this plot was thwarted. They seem to find this victory in the WAR ON TERROR threatening to their anti-Bush agenda. That's so twisted.

And another thing--

Why must those on the hard Left resort to name-calling ("read the constitution, you moron")?

It's a sure sign of intellectual impotence.

I think they don't like being reminded that we actually are threatened by terrorists; because that would mean they have been on the wrong side of this issue. That's why Michael Moore says "There is no terrorist threat"; why Al Gore says "He preyed on our fears" and "Global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism".

I think that's it, WS.
