One Wisconsin Now

One Wisconsin Now, another liberal Democratic front group, made an accusation today that I find repulsive.

The group describes itself this way:

One Wisconsin Now, Inc. (OWN) is the beginning of a long-term effort to re-light the flame of Wisconsin's proud progressive tradition on public policy with a state-based plan to modernize and strengthen our state's progressive infrastructure, to build the common good, and to win the ideas and values debate in Wisconsin.

In other words, it's a bunch of far left LIBERALS trying to ram their extremist agenda down the throats of Wisconsinites.

PROGESSIVE = LIBERAL

Here is the press release from One Wisconsin Now:

One Wisconsin Now: Giuliani Blames Troops…Does Green?
8/16/2006

Milwaukee -- Congressman Mark Green announced today that he was outsourcing help for his campaign by bringing former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to raise money for him.

Last year, Giuliani blamed U.S. troops for not finding weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq after the Bush administration used WMD’s as the central case for going to war in Iraq.

“No matter how you try to blame it on the president the actual responsibility for it really would be for the troops that were there. Did they search carefully enough? Didn't they search carefully enough?" (NBC, Today Show, 10/28/04)

Both Giuliani and Green have been relentless supporters of the Bush Administration’s failed “stay the course” policy in Iraq.

“Giuliani has blamed our troops – not the Bush administration – for mistakes in Iraq and the consequences these mistakes have had for U.S. national security,” said John Kraus, Executive Director of One Wisconsin Now Action, “Does Congressman Green also blame the troops, or does he blame President Bush for a failed policy in Iraq?”

What an incredible lack of judgment to attack Giuliani!

Based on that quote that they ripped out of context, OWN accuses Giuliani of "blaming the troops," as if to say that Giuliani doesn't support our military.

That's disgusting! It's a complete misrepresentation of where the former Mayor of New York City stands.

It's a lie. It's a smear.

This either/or "Does Green also blame the troops, or does he blame Bush for a failed Iraq policy?" is really an unfair and stupid question.

Does OWN think that anyone but the radicals on the far, far Left (the PROGRESSIVES) will really buy into such a ridiculous suggestion that Giuliani is a bad guy and against the troops?

Does OWN really think that Green will be hurt because someone like Giuliani is appearing at a fundraising event for him?

How nuts! How seriously wacko!

What horrible timing for OWN to take a shot at Giuliani on the very day that tapes of 911 calls made on September 11, 2001 were released!

Just as we're hearing heart-wrenching tapes of voices filled with panic and their desperate pleas for help, OWN is painting Giuliani, the man so many of us remember as helping to hold New York and the nation together on that horrible day, as a troop-bashing, unpatriotic, Bush puppet.

"Listen to me, ma'am," the operator told a panicked Melissa Doi during a 20-minute phone call. "You're not dying. You're in a bad situation, ma'am."

A portion of Doi's conversation was played for jurors in April at Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui's trial, but the rest was wasn't public until Wednesday's release of 1,613 previously undisclosed 911 emergency calls from the morning of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

"I'm going to die, aren't I?" Doi asked the dispatcher. "Please God, it's so hot. I'm burning up."

The operator encouraged Doi to keep her composure: "Ma'am, just stay calm for me, OK?"

It's sick, really sick.
