Doyle and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners

According to The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Doyle spokesman Anson Kaye said "Green's donations read 'like a special interest roll call filled with the big drug companies, Washington insiders and lobbyists, George Bush backers, and groups that support things like letting concealed firearms onto our playgrounds.'"

I am so sick of Doyle's people charging that Mark Green has no intention of putting the concerns of Wisconsinites ahead of those on his "special interest roll call."

It's so hypocritical.

Doyle does the bidding of special interest groups and lobbyists.

Today's DOYLE DISTANT DONOR OF THE DAY is a group of individuals from a Beverly Hills investment firm -- Levine Leichtman Capital Partners.

Ever heard of it?

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners is a private investment firm that was founded in 1984 by Arthur E. Levine and Lauren B. Leichtman. LLCP manages in excess of $1.1 billion of institutional investment capital through private equity partnerships. LLCP has a highly differentiated, multi-fund investment strategy focused on companies with revenues between $50 million and $500 million. LLCP is currently making new investments through, Levine Leichtman Capital Partners III, L.P. (a Structured Equity Fund) and Levine Leichtman Capital Partners Deep Value Fund, L.P. (a Distressed Debt Fund). Over the last 20 years, LLCP has achieved top quartile investment returns for its partners.

Executives at the California-based firm gave Jim Doyle a total of $44,413.16.

Why would these executives at this firm be interested in the govenor's race in Wisconsin?

A quick look at some of the firm's
selected portfolio companies is interesting.

One that stands out is
SW Gaming.

Its headquarters is in Greenville, Mississippi. LLCP calls SW Gaming "a casino, hotel, restaurant and entertainment venue."

Now, we know that Doyle has a soft spot for casinos.

Could that be the reason that these California executives are offering such robust support to Doyle?

Is Doyle making promises? What's in it for the executives?

It seems like special interest money to me.
