Organs For Sale

Does the name Wang Wenyi ring a bell?

Refresh your memory
here and here and here.
WorldNetDaily reports that Wang Wenyi was right.

Following years of denial, China has acknowledged that foreigners who can pay more than native Chinese have been given preference for organ transplants and that "donors" for the operation have often been executed prisoners.

WND reported in 2004 charges by the banned Falun Gong group – backed up by Chinese doctors and human rights experts – that the communist government was torturing prisoners, executing them and trafficking in their body parts.

This week, at a summit for transplant doctors held in Guangzhou, the once-denied practice was confirmed by government officials.

"Apart from a small portion of traffic victims, most of the organs from cadavers are from executed prisoners," said Vice Health Minister Huang Jiefu, according to English-language China Daily newspaper. "The current organ donation shortfall can't meet demand."

A ministry spokesman also said that "wealthier people, including foreign patients" were able to move to the top of waiting lists ahead of others waiting for organs.

...The announcement at the Guangzhou summit followed the adoption of new rules in July for transplants. Under these regulations, foreigners would only be eligible for transplants per internationally recognized standards. The 1 million Chinese already on waiting lists would be given priority, and organ donations, even from prisoners, would be with the donor's consent.

The rules also forbid "organ trading" – paying live donors for organs that are removed and then transported outside China for transplant.

Since the law prior to the new rules already said donations were supposed to be with consent, there is some question about the new regulations' effectiveness and whether they will be ignored as well. They only apply to ministry of health hospitals, the London Telegraph reported, and most transplant operations on foreigners are done at military hospitals run by the People's Liberation Army.

...Mabel Wu, 69, of Northridge, Calif., paid $40,000 for her new kidney in July. The family was told only that the donor was a 30-year-old male.

"I am very happy with this transplant," Wu told the Times. "I got a good kidney."

It's true.

The Communist Chinese HAVE been harvesting human organs and selling them at bargain prices.

Chinese prisoners, including political prisoners, are executed and their organs are used in transplants.

The Chinese don't deny this anymore. They admit to the practice.

Where's the outcry from so-called human rights organizations?

Where's the international outrage over this barbarism?

I guess the world is too busy condemning Israel for every move it makes to focus on the Chinese executions of thousands and the extraction of their organs for transplants.

And the 2008 Olympics will be held in Beijing.

The Chinese will welcome the world.

I wonder how many visitors will go home with a new organ.

Where do the organs come from?

Don't ask. Don't tell. Be happy.

Organs for sale is just part of it....They use the rest of the body for the production of women's makeup.

In the "Land of A Billion+ People" life is cheap, and they don't have religious scruples when it comes to the dead......Therefore they chop up their prisoners and do whatever they want with them.

Someday a band will be singing:

"You don't know how lucky you are boy, back in the PRC."

Just as the Beatles did about the USSR......"Land of the Gulag," which was nothing compared to what the Chinese have done.

The Chinese organ transplant business is the stuff of horror movies.

The New York Times and The Washington Post and the rest of the lib media continue to obsess over Abu Ghraib and Gitmo. Dems are still foaming at the mouth at the thought of Rumsfeld being tried for war crimes.

The human rights abuses in China are shocking, yet the libs can't stop talking about water boarding.

Let's talk about executing political prisoners in order to sell their organs.

The hypocrisy is sickening.

Mary> We as Americans should act BETTER than the Chinese. The "left" was/is outraged because the US government is sinking to their level. i.e. torture. Is what's going on in China terrible? Yes! Shouldn't the US act better than China? Yes! The US Government is held to a higher standard because that is what makes us better and protects our freedoms.

Not really complicated. You may now take your ball and go home again:)

Where do you get off telling me on MY blog, "You may now take your ball and go home again"?

I welcome debate. I don't welcome smart ass remarks.

You don't deserve a response from me, but I will say:

Executing political prisoners and harvesting their organs is not morally equivalent to water boarding.

I pity you for being unable to make that distinction.

Mary,
First off the US clearly was involved in much worse than "water boarding" i.e. the secret prisons, or maybe you missed that.

Now had you read what I said, you would clearly see that I feel what is going on in China is terrible. But the point is America can't stoop to their level. I guess I'm wrong for expecting more from America. For expecting America to lead and not to be dragged down. It is one of things that differentiates America from China… as least for now..

I do wonder, is your point what America has done is ok because well hey it ain't as bad as China?

I pity you for accepting the slide of America.

PS Because you did exactly that on another topic:)

I don't accept the "slide of America."

That's why I'm glad that there have been investigations and that the tiny percent of American military personnel involved are being held accountable for their roles in any wrong-doing.

I speak out against the Culture of Death all the time.

In spite of its pervasiveness -- whether it's abortion, euthanasia, unethical medical research, or torture -- I'm not comfortable with the country's disrespect for the sanctity of life.

By the way, are there executions in the secret prisons? Are we rounding up innocent people and killing them to harvest their organs?

Regarding the EMBRYONIC stem cell topic, it was spent. You were trying to be annoying.

"dave" and "jayce" were clearly playing games, not engaging in an exchange of ideas.

That's not "taking my ball and going home."

That's merely refusing to waste my time with trolls.

ESC debate wasn't spent.. you gave up...you never answered many of the questions posed. But that's ok.. I expect it.

This is a NO TROLL ZONE.

That means you, "dave."
