Feingold Cuts

I guess Russ Feingold couldn't take it anymore.

He dropped off the media's radar screen when he dropped out of the 2008 Dem presidential field.

He needed to get some attention.

What better way than to call to cut off funds for the war in Iraq?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold on Thursday urged Congress to cut funding for the Iraq war, while the Senate Republican leader threatened to filibuster any Democratic resolution opposing increased troop levels.

"Now Congress must use its main power -- the power of the purse -- to put an end to our involvement in this disastrous war and I am not talking here only about the surge or escalation," said Feingold of Wisconsin at a Senate hearing. "It is time to use the power of the purse to bring our troops out of Iraq."

Here's more, from the Associated Press:
Sen. Russ Feingold said Thursday that he will try to use Congress' control over the purse strings to end U.S. involvement in the war in Iraq.

..."I have consistently called for the redeployment of our military from Iraq, but now Congress must use its main power - the power of the purse - to put an end to our involvement in this disastrous war," he said at the hearing.

What sickens me is that our troops have to listen to this garbage from Mr. "Listening Session" Feingold. Their families have to listen to it.

Feingold is a master at crushing morale.

Let me clarify:

He's a master at smashing the morale of our military and the American people.

He's a master at bolstering the morale of our enemies.

In an interview, Feingold added, "I'll be working on a proposal with other members as we go through these hearings in the next couple of weeks, figuring out the best way to go about using the power of the purse to make sure that this redeployment occurs."

Ah, the interview. It's what Feingold lives for.

Hearings, shmearings.

Remember: In Demspeak, Redeployment = Defeat.

Feingold would not spell out what he had in mind, but said he wants to make sure his plans address concerns people might have.

No, why bother to spell anything out?

Just get a little media attention. That's what matters.

How irresponsible to toss out plans to cut off the funding for the war without having any specifics!

Can you hear al Qaeda and other America-haters around the world firing their guns into the air in celebration?

No doubt, suicide bombers are strapping on their explosives to slaughter more innocents and speed up the American retreat process.
"Because obviously, I would never do anything that would leave our troops without what they need, so this has to be done in a way that does not cause that to happen," Feingold said.

BS.

Feingold has been playing right into the hands of our enemies FOR YEARS.

Our troops need more than funds so that they're adequately armed, etc. They need support in terms of their mission. In short, they need U.S. senators like Feingold to stop acting like Tokyo Rose.

Of course, Feingold has no qualms about leaving our troops without what they need.

He certainly doesn't care about leaving the American people unprotected. Feingold has tried to undercut our efforts to fight the War on Terror since the first days after the 9/11 attacks.

The bottom line: Feingold is a useful idiot.

I'm ashamed that Wisconsinites sent him to Washington.

"Remember: In Demspeak, Redeployment = Defeat."

I know exactly what you were trying to say, but this term has a dual definition, because it also means "victory" in Demspeak.

Because any American defeat is a victory for them.

Excellent point, Pero.

It ties in with the Dems' "blame America first" mentality.
