I Want a Recount

After 28,726 online votes were cast, "May" and "Flower" were declared the winning names of the national Thanksgiving Turkey and the alternate.

On Tuesday, President Bush pardoned the turkeys in a ceremony at the White House.

"May" and "Flower" are probably in Disney World by now, where they will be honorary Grand Marshalls for the Disney Thanksgiving Day Parade.

I don't want to bring back the nightmares of Thanksgiving 2000, the indigestion caused by the hanging chads and pregnant chads and butterfly ballots.

Remember that?

Still, I question the validity of the vote to pick the turkeys' names.

I think a recount is in order.
