Robbery and Murder in Milwaukee

I don't think Milwaukee's thugs are Packer fans.

You'd think the glow of the Packers' trouncing of the Vikings might warm their hearts enough for a few hours to keep them from committing crimes.

I guess crime can't wait.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Milwaukee police are seeking a suspect in a robbery that occurred early today at a south side George Webb's restaurant.

The man entered the restaurant shortly after 3 a.m. when he walked up to the register and said, "This is a stickup," according to police.

The man implied that he had a weapon with is hand in his pocket. He never displayed a weapon, however, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

OK.

Police are seeking a suspect.

Why don't they enlist the help of the public and put out a description of the suspect?

I don't understand that.

Also, WHICH south side George Webb's was robbed? Was it a far south side Webb's? A near south side Webb's?

Why not give the location of the robbery?

That's a significant aspect to the story. Is crime continuing its creep into formerly crime-free areas of the city?

It's possible that the police aren't giving enough information to the media.

It's also possible that the media are doing a half-assed job of informing the public.

Either way, it's bad.

In addition to the robbery, Milwaukee already has a murder today--

Milwaukee police are responding to the city's north side for reports of a shooting victim they say is dead at the scene.

Police and paramedics responded to a duplex in the 3100 block of N. 21st St. just before 11 a.m.

Radio transmissions from police indicated the man was shot on a porch of a home.

And Mayor Tom Barrett says, "[T]here is really a renaissance going on in Milwaukee."

If that's the case, there are two Milwaukees.
