The deer population has become a menace at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Call in the sharpshooters.
From TMJ4:
Sharpshooters will soon be taking aim at white-tailed deer on the Milwaukee County Zoo grounds.
This is the first time that they’ve been enlisted to control the population.
Helen Kupferle lives near the zoo. She doesn't like the idea of sharp shooters aiming at deer.
"I think it's unsafe to be honest," Kupferle said.
Neighbors are just learning about the plan to kill 20 or so deer that live in the wooded areas on zoo property.
“Where do the bullets go? Are they going to put a net up?,” asked Gabe Rodriguez.
Zoo leaders say the sharpshooters have an impeccable record. They won't be firing when the zoo is open and they won't shoot toward streets.
Oh, that's a relief.
THEY WON'T BE FIRING WHEN THE ZOO IS OPEN.
Good thinking.
But just in case, it might be a good idea to wear some blaze orange gear on the next family outing to the zoo.

I'm thinking wolves :-)
Do you trust wolves to get the job done more efficiently than sharp shooters?
I suppose it depends on the wolf and the shooter. :)
Well, the zoo has a few of them around, and they work cheap. The problem is, the last time I saw them, they seemed a bit too docile.
Zoo officials have to be very confident in the sharpshooters' ability to get the job done.
It would mean a PR nightmare, not to mention lawsuits, if any bullets went astray.
It would have been nice if the zoo had public hearing before shooting the deer.
I think that would have been reasonable.
