Thug Mark Devon Nellum

I hope that Mark Devon Nellum has learned from the time he spent around Marquette University.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

A Milwaukee man and an accomplice stole a newspaper carrier's van before driving around the Marquette University area last weekend and robbing three students at gunpoint, kidnapping two of them and forcing them to withdraw money from an ATM, according to a criminal complaint filed Friday.

Mark Devon Nellum, 19, is charged with three counts of being party to a crime of armed robbery, threat of force; two counts of being party to a crime of false imprisonment while armed; operating a vehicle without owner's consent; fleeing police; and possession of a firearm by a felon. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 153 years in prison and $365,000 in fines.

Nellum was being held in Milwaukee County Jail, with bail set at $100,000. Police are looking for the second assailant.

My hope is that Nellum is sent to prison for a long time. Get him off the streets.

He's shown that he has no respect for the law and for life. He obviously presents a danger to law-abiding citizens. He's a predator, kidnapping and robbing students at gunpoint.

Among the many charges against this thug, the one that strikes me is possession of a firearm by a felon.

Nellum is a felon. This 19-year-old has been convicted of at least one serious crime before. I guess whatever punishment he received for committing the felony wasn't enough to deter him from going on a crime spree last weekend.

Thugs like Nellum need to be removed from society if there's any hope of maintaining order. No revolving door.
