Michael McGee Jr., or as he likes to be called, "Thug Mike," has been found guilty on all 9 counts.
David A. Wise of WisPolitics writes:
A federal jury in Milwaukee has found former Ald. Michael McGee Jr. guilty on nine federal charges, including five counts of bribery, three counts of extortion and one count of attempting to avoid reporting requirements for a $15,000 wire transfer. The verdict came shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
McGee faces up to 30 years in prison at his sentencing, which is set for Oct. 24. He will remain in custody until his sentencing.
That's it for the Gatekeeper.
Michael George of TMJ4 reports that city leaders don't want to comment on the verdict.
Mayor Tom Barrett wouldn't talk and Common Council President Willie Hines was scheduled for an interview but then cancelled, citing personal reasons.
What's that about?
It seems like they're afraid of McGee.
I suppose although McGee has been convicted, his "kickass committee" members aren't behind bars.
