A little of Akilah and Antoine Crittenden's history and the Murda Mobb--
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, November 28, 2007:
A founder of a notorious Metcalfe Park gang who was convicted on bail jumping charges in 2006 is entitled to a new trial because the prosecution sprang a surprise witness just before the trial, the 1st District Court of Appeals has ruled.
A jury found Akilah Crittenden, 31, guilty of three felony and two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping, all stemming from an incident that occurred Aug. 23, 2005. While he was acquitted of many of the charges brought against him, he entered a guilty plea in 2006 to charges of felony marijuana possession, fleeing an officer and resisting arrest.
According to court records, Crittenden and his brother, Antoine, moved to Milwaukee in 1999 and founded the Murda Mobb, a gang that terrorized the Metcalfe Park neighborhood and had ties to Chicago's Gangster Disciples. Police have said at least one gang member was a suspect in several murders in the neighborhood.
Antoine Crittenden had maintained that the Murda Mobb was a rap group, not a criminal group.
...The appeals court, in a decision written by Judge Joan Kessler, noted that the prosecution is required to give notice of witnesses to be called at trial and did not in this case.
What a contribution the Crittenden brothers have made to society!
Model citizens.

I knew their mother. She would be saddened by what has happened to her children since her death. I am sure if she were alive, they would be very different young men.
