The president-elect's transition continues. Al Qaeda is preparing for the transition as well, delivering a message to the Arab world, the U.S., and its soon to be president.
According to Ayman al-Zawahri, al Qaeda's #2 man, Barack Obama is a "house negro."
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message posted Wednesday, describing the president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites.
The message appeared chiefly aimed at persuading Muslims and Arabs that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Ayman al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant Web sites, that Obama is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans" like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.
In al-Qaida's first response to Obama's victory, al-Zawahri also called the president-elect—along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice—"house negroes."
Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term "abeed al-beit," which literally translates as "house slaves." But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as "house negroes."
The message also includes old footage of speeches by Malcolm X in which he explains the term, saying black slaves who worked in their white masters' house were more servile than those who worked in the fields. Malcolm X used the term to criticize black leaders he accused of not standing up to whites.
The 11-minute 23-second video features the audio message by al-Zawahri, who appears only in a still image, along with other images, including one of Obama wearing a Jewish skullcap as he meets with Jewish leaders. In his speech, al-Zawahri refers to a Nov. 5 U.S. airstrike attack in Afghanistan, meaning the video was made after that date.
Al-Zawahri said Obama's election has not changed American policies he said are aimed at oppressing Muslims and others.
"America has put on a new face, but its heart full of hate, mind drowning in greed, and spirit which spreads evil, murder, repression and despotism continue to be the same as always," the deputy of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden said.
...Al-Zawahri did not threaten specific attacks, but warned Obama that he was "facing a Jihadi (holy war) awakening and renaissance which is shaking the pillars of the entire Islamic world; and this is the fact which you and your government and country refuse to recognize and pretend not to see."
He said Obama's victory showed Americans acknowledged that President George W. Bush's policies were a failure and that the result was an "admission of defeat in Iraq."
But Obama's professions of support for Israel during the election campaign "confirmed to the Ummah (Islamic world) that you have chosen a stance of hostility to Islam and Muslims," al-Zawahri said.
Hmm.
I guess Obama isn't being greeted with open arms by the entire world.
Al-Zawahri even used a term for Obama that the American Left usually reserves for black conservatives. I suppose that's a surprise to the Leftists. Al Qaeda is equating Obama with conservatives. Gee, that must hurt.
So al-Zawahri is demanding the United States' total retreat and defeat.
I know Obama, the Obama administration, and the Democrats will blame President Bush for EVERY challenge they encounter.
Nonetheless, it will be hard for Obama to dodge his own Afghanistan plan.
Al Qaeda doesn't like it.
Bottom line: Islamic terrorists are at war with us. Nothing has changed.
When President Bush leaves office, the War on Terror will no longer look the same if Obama keeps his campaign promises. Clearly, our enemies aren't changing their game plan.
I pray that Obama has the wisdom and the spine to keep pressuring al Qaeda the way the Bush administration has done.
I hope he is as successful as President Bush has been in keeping our country safe. I hope for the best, but based on Obama's views, I fear that the new administration may make decisions that will bring about catastrophic consequences.

By keeping our country safe do you mean by bankrupting education, racking up a 10 plus trillion dollar debt so that we take loans of 1.5 billion dollars everyday for foreign investors we cannot control, breaching the civil rights of American citizens, preventing real trials for detaines at GITMO which his own justices Alito, Roberts said were illegal. You mean that kind of safety?
I wouldn't say it hurts but it goes to show that al-qaeda has studied American history, people and politics and they know the things to say to get under our skin.
If comments from the second in charge of al-qaeda serves as a benchmark for the Obama administration, I wonder what someone's true hopes and aspirations for America really are.
By "keeping our country safe," I mean not another 9/11.
If you can't give President Bush credit for that, you're delusional.
