Timothy Geithner Apologizes for Tax Boo-Boo

From USA Today:

Update at 10:45 a.m. ET. Geithner addresses the tax issue:

"These were careless mistakes. They were avoidable mistakes. But they were unintentional," Geithner says of his failure to pay the taxes. "I take full responsibility."

He then apologizes to the committee "for putting you in the position of having to spend so much time" on the tax issue.

"I will do everything I can to justify your trust and your confidence" if confirmed, he says.

Get that.

This is a "new era of responsibility."

Barack said so.

That means you must pay your taxes.

What? You do pay your taxes? You don't forget or make "unintentional" mistakes when it comes to handing your money over to the government?

Well. Then you're ahead of your time.
