Blake Jones and Barack Obama in Denver

Apparently, Blake Jones, CEO of Namaste Solar Electric, didn't get the memo.

This is a catastrophe. We have no time to spare. We have to get Barack Obama's signature on that stimulus bill ASAP.

But Jones droned on and on when he introduced Obama in Denver.

When Obama finally stepped up to the podium, he yapped and yapped. I think he was imagining his face on Mt. Rushmore, and saying to himself, 'I'm one of the greatest presidents ever! Strike that. THE GREATEST!'

I suppose Obama does have a lot to tell the American people about the bill SINCE AMERICANS WEREN'T GIVEN THE CHANCE TO KNOW WHAT WAS IN IT UNTIL AFTER IT WAS PASSED BY THE HOUSE AND SENATE. WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT'S IN IT.

Obama said, "We've begun the essential work of keeping the American dream alive."

He said, "Today does mark the beginning of the end" of the nation's economic woes.

I think today does have the potential to mark the beginning of the end of a number of things -- investment, innovation, and independence.

This so-called economic stimulus bill will thwart investment. Have you checked how the market is reacting?

The bill stifles innovation, certainly in medicine.

The bill condemns Americans to dependence on the government and strips the private sector of freedom.

Obama is bragging about the transformation of health care due to the bill.

Health care reform should not have been part of an economic stimulus bill. Socialized medicine should have been debated on its own merits, not slipped into this legislation.

Obama invoked John Kennedy's space program challenge. He's framing the stimulus bill as a similar challenge to Americans, but in this case to go green.

If Obama really cared about energy, he wouldn't have burned through all that jet fuel to sign the bill in Denver. Hypocrite.

Obama says the bill is "a plan that's been put together without earmarks" and pork.

That's a flat-out lie. Liar.

Obama says there will be "transparency and accountability throughout this process."

LIAR!

This guy is scary.

And with that signature, off we go down the path to economic ruin and socialism.

Pretty soon the government will be our bank and will decide who gets loan. And, I guess if they need some money they'll just get into our accounts and take some, like they did in Argentina. And then they;ll be able to watch where we travel with government installed GPS devices in our vehicles.

Isn't it great what the citizens have done to our country?

Coming soon, the Soccer Mom freakout and the collapse of our university system. Yep they'll be out of money soon because of all of the outrageous spending.

Lauren, you are absolutely right, this country was stolen by the half of this country that is greedy, moral-less and hell-bent on the destruction of a once great country: the half that thought tax breaks for the ultra rich, deregulation of the banking industry, sacrificing 4,000 US lives in an unprovoked war, warrentless wiretaps, torture, and secret prisons and extraordinary renditions were all a good idea.

Mary - we are already well down the road to economic ruin. Unless you want to waste an entire decade waiting to recover, as the Japanese did when this happened to them, we have to do something. I don't see you offering any better ideas than trying to pump as much money as possible into the economy.

As they say, if you aren't part of the solution, then you are part of the problem. What would you suggest we do?

Japan?

Read what Rich Lowry has to say about Japan and Obama and his failure to heed his own admonitions.
