From KARE:
"Drive it like I stole it."
That's how Lee Shehow answered, when organizers of the Somerset Youth Athletic Association Ice Fishing contest asked him what he'd do with his new truck.
Shehow turned in a 2.42 pound northern pike last Saturday to win the annual contest on Bass Lake. But by Sunday, the waters started to get a bit murky amidst allegations the winner cheated.
Organizer John Montpetit says at least two callers allege that Shehow carried the fish in underneath his jacket, and then kept it alive and alert by pouring bottled water on it. A private dectective says after questioning Shehow, the would-be-winner disqualified himself from the contest.
When contacted for his side of the story, Shehow strongly denied the allegations, and insisted he caught the fish fair and square on a tip-up. He also says he didn't disqualify himself, but simply gave the truck back because he didn't want to cause bad publicity for kids who play in the local athletic association.
"They'll get to the bottom of it and find out I didn't (cheat)," he said. "It's just a matter of time."
After today's press conference, the keys to the $27,000 Dodge Dakota pickup were handed to Monica Slimmen of LaCrosse, who finished in second place.

I don't think Shehow would have given up the truck if he had won it legitimately. Of course, he's going to deny the allegations.
Very slimy.

I want to know how you keep a fish you supposedly snuck into an ice fishing contest alive for 5 hours by pouring water on it?????
I know! That must have been a rare mutant fish if pouring bottled water on it kept it alive.
He must be quilty as he turned the prize back in...
