Jay Leno and "What's George Bush Doing Today?"

It seems that Jay Leno is copying David Letterman's lame George W. Bush bashing.

On Wednesday's Tonight Show during his monologue, Leno introduced a short filmed feature -- "What's George Bush Doing Today?"

It began with a full screen graphic and goofy music, a rendition of "Hail to the Chief."

Then the film of what George Bush was supposedly doing today followed.

A white truck was towing a George Bush look-alike riding in a shopping cart. The actor playing Bush was cracking a whip.

That is so, so lame.

And back to the graphic and music.

Absolutely idiotic.

Leno has really turned weird. Letterman has always hated Bush. He's made no secret of that. I expect Letterman to keep drawing from the same well and not offer anything fresh.

Although like Letterman Leno has been merciless when it comes to slamming Bush, I expected him to move on and be more topical, joking about the new administration.

Note to Leno: Bush isn't the president anymore. Get some new material.

Good grief.

Leno did the same segment on Tuesday's show. In that installment, the Bush look-alike balanced on a revolving stool and used a leaf blower to make him spin.

What comic genius!
