Osama bin Laden is putting out a renewed call for jihad.
Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden accused conservative Arab leaders of plotting with the West against Muslims and urged his followers to prepare for jihad (holy war), in a recording posted on Islamist websites.
"The hearts of our rulers are like those of the enemies. Whether in Najd (Saudi Arabia) or in Egypt, they never soften, Pharaohs who have returned to humiliate Arabs," he said, reciting a poem honouring Gaza resistance to Israel's offensive.
He also called for the creation of a body of devout clerics to draw up a list warning Muslims about "enemies, hypocrites, their media such as newspapers ... radio stations and satellite channels, of which the most dangerous are the latter two."
The list, he said, should include the British Broadcasting Corporation, U.S.-funded Arabic-language television al-Hurra in Iraq, and the Saudi-funded Al Arabiya channel in Dubai.
...The recording entitled "Practical steps to liberate Palestine", in which the speaker's voice sounded like earlier bin Laden messages, was produced by al Qaeda media arm As-Sahab. It was accompanied by an English translation of its text.
"Gaza's holocaust after the long siege is a historic event and tragedy that underlines the need for a separation between Muslims and hypocrites," bin Laden said.
Although they differ in proposed means to achieve the end, bin Laden reminds me of Jimmy Carter when he talks about Gaza's "holocaust."
Carter has been serving as a PR man for the anti-Israel contingent for years.
His 2006 book, Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, was a screed against the Israelis.
Promoting the book during an interview with Charlie Rose, he inisted, "Israel wants to confiscate Palestinian land."
Carter said, "Hamas can't recognize Israel until it stays within its borders."
He even claimed that he hadn't seen any proof that Hamas was responsible for lobbing missiles at Israel.
Carter is deeply entrenched in the Palestinians' corner.
Granted, the "practical steps" bin Laden proposes and the ones Carter espouses are different. But they both consider Israel responsible for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Unlike bin Laden, Carter isn't advocating terrorism to address the conflict. Like bin Laden, Carter does consider the Israelis to be engaged in terrorist activities.

Jimmy Carter is an absolute fool and not a friend to the Jewish state. Recently I visited an old blog friend of mine at his site in Israel "myrightword.blogspot.com" he worked in the Begin administration in Israel and was close to the former prime minister. He claims that many of Carters statements about Begin are total lies and fabrications by the ex-president. Lets us be quite honest about Jimmy, he is pro-Palestinian (nothing wrong with that), but he should just admit it and stop trying to say he is neutral---what a crock!! First visit to your blog, but like what I see and will return. Visit me sometime at "Penny Patch-Politely Patrician", mine is a new blog, but growing. Objectivity is a myth, and I don't attempt to promote it---those who do are only fools or liers.
