American Idol: Matt Giraud

A surprise on American Idol: Matt Giraud received the least amount of votes this week, but the judges decided to use the "save."

Matt is NOT going home.

When Simon made the announcement, he told Matt that he stood no chance of winning of the competition. People began to boo. Then Simon said, "It's good news."

Matt was obviously thrilled. The other contestants mobbed him. He was teary-eyed, overcome with emotion.

Simon interrupted the celebration with the bad news:

1. Next week two contestants are guaranteed to leave the show.

2. The theme is Disco.

Disco!
