Chris Matthews Goes Gaga Over Obamas in England

I find this embarrassing.

Chris Matthews' infatuation with Barack and Michelle Obama creeps me out.

While discussing their trip to Europe, Matthews got a "thrill" again.

Transcript from Wednesday's Hardball:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: But there is something cool— there‘s a nice ‘60s term. When they were both walking to the helicopter the other day, Marine One, there was something like when he looked at her - you could just tell he said, isn‘t this something? You could tell they were experiencing the—I‘m getting old here. The grooviness, the excitement of being this first American couple heading towards Marine One, which is cool in itself, heading from there to Air Force One, for a quick flight across the Atlantic, on your own plane, and to meet with the world leaders as like the center piece of the world. I get—I‘m saying it again. I‘m getting a thrill. Go ahead. I can‘t say these things.

MICHELLE BERNARD: You look at them, watching them go to Marine One, and he so clearly loves his wife. I think people like looking at that also. It‘s nice.

MATTHEWS: It‘s great stuff. I think George Bush liked his wife. I think it‘s pretty common. It‘s just very glamorous with these two.

What an idiotic thing to say!

Bush likes his wife but Obama ADORES his wife.

Matthews is suggesting that he didn't feel sparks between George and Laura Bush, but he gets a different, "groovy" vibe from the Obamas. That excites him. It's creepy.

LOIS ROMANO, WASHINGTON POST: One woman I was interviewed in the story said what she liked about them is they look like they just won the Lottery.

Yeah. Do you know why they look like they've won the lottery?

BECAUSE THEY HAVE!

Obama isn't qualified to be the president of the United States, but there he is, leader of the free world.

Yes, they've won the lottery.

MATTHEWS: Yes! Yes!

ROMANO:Look at each other and say, thinking this is so exciting.

MATTHEWS: You‘re going to Disneyland. You‘re great. We girls are right. I don‘t mind saying I‘m excited. I‘m thrilled. I like it all. I like the picture. I like the substance.

"We girls"?

Chris Matthews is funny. Creepy, but funny. This stuff he says is priceless.

He's like a giggling school girl.

When he fantasizes, and you know he does, I wonder if he imagines that he's Barack or Michelle.
