Dylan and Willie Nelson: Summerfest

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

"Legend" is the most abused word in contemporary music, but it fits the two performers who will play Summerfest on July 1: Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson.

The two seminal songwriters have joined forces for a joint tour. (John Mellencamp will open some of the early tour dates, but he will not be part of the Summerfest show.)

Both men have new albums. Dylan's "Together Through Life" makes its bow on Tuesday, and Nelson recently released a new collection with the Asleep at the Wheel. The two artists previously toured in 2004, visiting a series of minor league ballparks.

Tickets for the concert are $59.50 for the red section, $49.50 for the yellow section and $37 for bench seats. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. May 2 at the Marcus Amphitheater box office, www.ticketmaster.com and (800) 745-3000.

There will also be a limited number of free lawn seats available the day of the show. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

The Dylan/Nelson concert is the ninth of Summerfest's 11 main stage bookings to be announced for 2009. Previously announced shows include Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban with Counting Crows, The Fray, George Strait, No Doubt, Chicago with Earth, Wind & Fire and Kid Rock with Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The 2009 festival will run from June 25 through July 5.
