Obama: Cinco de Cuatro

Obama no habla español.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's joke wasn't lost in translation—even though he referred to a Cinco de Mayo celebration as "Cinco de Cuatro."

Obama jumbled his words as he welcomed guests to the White House to observe the Mexican holiday, sending the crowd into laughter before he referred to the day correctly.

"Welcome to Cinco de Cuatro—Cinco de Mayo at the White House," said Obama, in what appeared to be an attempt to note they were celebrating on the fourth of May instead of the fifth.

Cinco de cuatro means "five of four" in Spanish.

"We are a day early, but we always like to get a head start here at the Obama White House," he said.

During the presidential campaign, Obama acknowledged his Spanish skills weren't great.

No kidding. Obama's Spanish skills are bad.

If President Bush said what Obama did, "Cinco de Cuatro," the Lefties would be having a field day.

I can just imagine the mocking had Bush butchered Spanish like that.

It's the "five of four" celebration. Hahahaha. What a buffoon! Bush is an idiot!

I won't stoop that low.

I am willing to cut Obama some slack. He doesn't speak Spanish.

I have a problem with the stupid and offensive things Obama says in English, like declaring that there were 57+ states. Unbelievably stupid.

When Obama attempted to make fun of his poor bowling skills by comparing himself to a Special Olympics athlete, it was unbelievably cruel.

I can tolerate him screwing up in Spanish. I have much less tolerance for his English screw-ups.
