Smokers and Drinkers and Taxes

Obama and the Democrats need your money to fund their huge expansion of government.

They have to raise cash.

From Politico:

If you make big bucks — or enjoy alcohol, cigarettes and Coke — the government might hit you up to pay for fixing the nation’s health care system.

On Tuesday, the Senate Finance Committee peeked into vending machines and liquor stores, company payrolls and health savings accounts, looking for a mix of tax increases and spending cuts as a way to pay for a health overhaul — which could cost more than $1.5 trillion over 10 years.

With these federal taxes on tobacco, alcohol, and soft drinks being proposed, Jim Doyle and the Democrats are going to be limited in how much more of a tax burden they can impose on consumers.

"And I can make a firm pledge: under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase - not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."

--Barack Obama

"Going forward, my mind will be open to every solution -- except one. We should not -- we must not -- and I will not -- raise taxes."

--Jim Doyle

Broken promises.

Lies.

As I passed the construction truck with the workers inside today, and the Obama Hope sticker on the back window... I laughed...

Then I read this post and thought again of what made me laugh...

If you voted for Hope, for Change, for Obama... you are getting what you wished for... please enjoy it.
