Obama in Green Bay: $32,000

A week ago today, Obama was in Green Bay to sell his disastrous health care reform plans.

Obama's visit to the city left behind more than a massive carbon footprint. He also left a hefty bill for security.

From the Green Bay Press-Gazette:

The three primary police agencies responsible for security during President Barack Obama’s visit on June 11 spent about $32,500 in overtime and other costs.

Ashwaubenon Public Safety generated about $3,000 in costs its share of security for the President’s visit to Green Bay last week in both overtime and other costs, Lt. Jody Crocker said.

The Brown County Sheriff's Department racked up about $7,000 in costs for its share, including $4,000 in overtime costs and used about $3,000 worth of labor from deputies already on duty on Thursday.

Brown County Sheriff's Chief Deputy John Gossage said some on-duty personnel were shifted to presidential duties to help keep overtime expenses down. Green Bay police Capt. Karl Fleury said Tuesday police overtime costs for the presidential visit to Green Bay Southwest High School were $22,511.

$32,000!

Was it worth it, taxpayers?
