Tony Hawk Skateboards in White House

The White House is the people's house. It's my house.

If it were up to me, I would have this rule: NO SKATEBOARDING IN THE HOUSE.

From the Daily News:

Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk on Friday took a brief ride at the White House as part of a Father's Day celebration.

Hawk, 41, skated in the grand foyer and the nearby Old Executive Office Building, with the permission of White House officials.

The skateboarding icon, also known for his popular brand of skateboarding video games, posted photos to his Web site and Twitter page.

One photo shows Hawk on his skateboard with his hands in the air in what appears to be a hallway.

"...and here is my exit," he wrote in a message on Twitter, which linked to a picture of him skating. "Supposed to return at noon for the First Fathers event if they let me back in."

Hawk posted other insights from his Washington visit on his Twitter page, telling fans about eating Frosted Flakes cereal inside the gates of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

In another tweet, he says "back at White House, Tweeting live from the Diplomatic Room. Unbelievable."

Hawk joined other dads, athletes and celebrities at a Father's Day forum hosted by President Barack Obama. Celebrity chef Bobby Flay helped man the barbecue grills for a White House picnic for the attendees, which included NBA players Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and Etan Thomas of the Washington Wizards.

"The Prez addressing all of us fathers before we split up to visit DC charities," Hawk tweeted. "D Wade & Etan T make me feel short."

White House officials made a poor decision when they gave Hawk permission to skateboard in the White House halls.

I like Greg Gutfeld's take on this, "Now, Because I'm Pissed."

Gutfeld writes:

Am I an old fart or am I right to be pissed that some jackass is skateboarding down the halls of the White House while all this Iranian shit is going down?

We truly have succumbed to the idiocy of the MTV/Mountain Dew/Road Rules backward hat and baggy short culture. Did I miss something, or is the White House the future set for the next Real World? Where are the wallet chains? Is Hot Topic handling our foreign policy? Obama should be grounded for a week for letting Tony Hawk play in OUR house. Where in hell are the adults?

Look: Tony Hawk is in his mid forties. He’s a grown man…and he skateboards. Could you imagine your dad or anyone who lived during World War II treating a man who skateboards with anything less than scorn and ridicule?

Right now, people are risking their lives for the glimmer of freedom, and Tony Hawk is in the White House tweeting about Frosted Flakes.

Someone please dig up Reagan. I’d take a dead leader with balls over a living camp counselor who wants all the cool kids to like him.

What a screaming joke.

Hawk should play outside.

Gutfeld is absolutely right: "Where in hell are the adults?"

Classless. This is unforgivable.

As I said earlier... I long for the days when adults were in charge. I had a son who skateboarded... BUT NOT IN THE HOUSE!!!

Exactly. Where are the adults?

Uh.... if we wanted some old fart who doesn't have a any grip on (modern) reality in the WH.... McCain would have won!
Go on with your bad self Tony. I'd let you skate in my house anytime.... and that includes OUR white house!
How about focusing on something of national importance and stop trying to dredge up anything to get people mad at what our president does on Father's Day!
You're the same fools who complain that he takes his wife out to dinner "on our dime". Gutfeld is a talking head who needs to stir up anything just to get viewers.
STOP (blindly) following the sheep and start focusing on the Federal Reserve (issues), getting our troops out of other countries and let's focus on our own country. I too am saddened and horrified about what's going on in Iran.... but I assume your readers would rather our president start a war over there, than use diplomacy.
Our country NEEDS to focus on our own country and stop meddling in other countries civil wars.
Imagine if another country had jumped in during our civil war? How would things be different now?
Skateboarding is not a crime and is not destructive unless Tony was rail sliding down some ancient bannister!
I GUARANTEE the marble floors will be alright with some urethane wheels rolling across them.
It's not like some kid was skating around scratching up the floors!
IT WAS FATHER'S DAY!
