I'm surprised that Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett are not commenting on camera about the fire at Patrick Cudahy.
Obviously, in Walker's case, this major fire requiring a significant evacuation, is located in Milwaukee County. Doesn't he have anything to say? Especially considering his bid for governor, I would think that Walker would want to show that he can handle an emergency situation.
And given the proximity of the fire to General Mitchell International Airport and the city of Milwaukee, I don't know why Barrett hasn't called a news conference.
The guy holds a news conference when Milwaukee has a tornado watch, yet he has nothing to say about the potential evacuation of city of Milwaukee residents.
It doesn't make sense to me.
Both Walker and Barrett appear to be asleep at the switch.

The airport is county property. Barrett has no say about it whatsoever. He did send out fire crews to help fight the fire.
You are correct in pointing out that Walker is missing in action during this event.
City of Milwaukee businesses and residences in the vicinity of the airport would have been affected had the wind shifted and remained steady out of the east.
Barrett was missing in action.
