Andrea Mitchell: Americans "May Not Know What's Good for Them"

Is there any doubt that members of the liberal media view themselves as enlightened and brilliant while they see the masses as dolts?

They get frustrated with the masses, and sometimes that frustration rears its ugly head in ugly ways.

When Americans aren't on board with Obama's socialist agenda, when Americans complain about their freedoms being attacked, when Americans express their concerns about living in a country they don't recognize, the lib media get crazy.

Note to Andrea Mitchell: Condescension will get you nowhere.

From Mark Finkelstein, NewsBusters:

The poor, benighted little people. They just don't understand what a wonderful hopey-changey world Pres. Obama is offering them . . .

Andrea Mitchell has suggested that the problem Pres. Obama is facing in selling his health care plan to Americans who already have coverage is that people "may not know what's good for them."

Mitchell made her comment on Friday's Morning Joe.

Here's the transcript:

ANDREA MITCHELL: You've got 47% of the people in our NBC/Wall Street Journal opinion poll who have health insurance who don't like what the president is doing. The problem he's got -- 47% of the people who've got coverage don't want change. They don't like what they're hearing. Now, they may not know what's good for them, but the problem is that he always knew he was going to have to persuade people with insurance, that's the largest number, not the people without insurance, for expanded coverage. So they've got a real problem.

Video.

Mitchell nauseates me.

I understand what ObamaCare is about. I know what it means. I know what's good for me. I know what's good for my family.

Mitchell's remarks perfectly illustrate the attitude that permeates the lib media. She looks down on Americans who aren't interested in empowering the government by becoming dependents.

If you don't want to hand over your liberties to the state and weaken the private sector and increase the government's role in ruling your life, then you're a dunce.

This condescending attitude not only permeates the lib media, it permeates liberalism in general.

I don't appreciate being considered stupid -- by Mitchell, by the lib media, by Democrats, by Obama.

Bottom line: I KNOW that ObamaCare is not good me.
