"Enough of the Mob": DNC Ad

The Democrats are lying about Republicans in a new attack ad.

Transcript

The Right-wing extremist Republican base is back.

They lost the election.

They lost on the Recovery Act, the budget, and children's health care.

They've lost the confidence of the American people after 8 years of failed policies that ruined our economy and cost millions of jobs.

Now, desperate Republicans and their well-funded allies are organizing angry MOBS, just like they did during the election.

Their goal?

Destroy President Obama and stop the change Americans voted for overwhelmingly in November.

This MOB activity is straight from the playbook of high level Republican political operatives.

They have no plan for moving our country forward, so they've called out the MOB.

Call the Republican Party. Tell them you've had enough of the MOB.

There they go again.

This ad employs the exact same tactics Team Obama used to smear McCain supporters during Election 2008, depicting McCain-Palin rallies as angry MOBS.

I can say firsthand that the lib media flat-out LIED about a McCain-Palin rally I attended. Read more here.

Twice, this latest DNC attack ad uses that sound bite of a woman questioning the validity of Obama's birth certificate at a health care town hall meeting.

The woman says, "He is not an American citizen."

The fact that they use the clip twice seems to indicate that the DNC doesn't have a lot of material from the fringe to tap.

Also inserted in the ad are voiceovers of Sen. DeMint saying, "It will break him," and Rush Limbaugh saying, "I hope he fails." Of course, there's no context to their comments, just clips.

They flash Limbaugh's face on the screen, along with John Boehner, Michael Steele, and Mitch McConnell.

In the 1-minute ad's audio, we hear the term "MOB" four times.

The ad ends with a message in bold white letters:
CALL THE GOP (202)863-8500

TELL THEM YOU'VE HAD ENOUGH OF THE MOB

The Democrats are running scared.

They see the polls. They know that support for government-run health care, now that the public is learning about it, has eroded.

Obama's popularity and job approval numbers have eroded.

They're desperate so they're smearing Americans who are voicing dissent.

I resent the "MOB ACTIVITY" accusations.

Ugly.

Mary,
While I believe in freedom of speech, you obviously do not. Your "Wall of Shame" is disheartening and it seems that you have a hard time understanding that yes, people can say what they please. Why do you have the right to judge people for what they say but then turn around and say what you please? Politics are just politics and frankly, unless you are deeply involved (ie, as a policitian) it seems an colossal waste of time for you to blog about all of this.

If the dems cannot find enough of the fringe then they have not looked hard enough. It is the easiest thing to do. Between the crazy birthers, the liars about medical coverage, and the inability of republican congressman to keep their pants zipped, this should be the easiest year ever. d

How can you watch video like the one of the Kagen "listening session" and not see these people are out of control?

"Anonymous, 9:14 AM, August 05, 2009,"

What do you mean I don't believe in free speech?

With all due respect, you aren't making sense.

You say:

"[Y]es, people can say what they please. Why do you have the right to judge people for what they say but then turn around and say what you please?"

It's called FREE SPEECH.

The fact that you are trying to silence me tells me I'm doing something right.

It's easy to see that the Democrats' attacks on the opposition shows that they are in trouble.

Saul Alinsky: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.

Although the DNC ad, Dems in elected office, and party hacks are targeting the MOB, the object is to discredit anyone in opposition to government-run health care.

"According to Alinsky, the main job of the organizer is to bait an opponent into reacting. 'The enemy properly goaded and guided in his reaction will be your major strength.'"

I think the Dems will fail. I don't think people will back off, not when it comes to something as important as health care, life and death.

Oh actually, it's the birthers/corporate apologist/teabaggers that will fail. You're right though, it is a matter of life and death. And since the insurance industry and it's supporters are against "life" in pursuit of a nickle...it's this side of the equation that will fail. Just like it failed in 2006 and 2008 (against a black man with a muslim name) Ahhhhh, welcome to a new era in America....and goodbye the the 1960's mindset of the lowest common denominators of this great nation!

BrooklynGirl, histrionics much? Wow what a straw man set of ad Ad hominem attacks.

The idiocy of fringe kooks is amazing. Who is for the rising cost of health care? No one.

Tort Reform, Open competition, Cafe Plans, Medical savings accounts etc. are more likely to produce what We the People want\need, then Health care rationing.

Add to that the Economy is in the toilet thanks to the borrow and spend government. We need jobs, and the Administration is content to have the 16,000 a day job loss continue as they pork spend spin.

The attempt to minimize the grass roots protests and civil dissent that we are seeing is dishonest at least. Even if this liberal rumor mill factoid is correct, BULLY! its about time!

When the depression takes hold this desperate political garbage will have signaled the end of the liberal portion of the Democratic party.

Today's news reports make it obvious that it is Obama's Brownshirts causing the trouble at the Town Hall Meetings. They are the cause of the recent violence. But what do you expect when the White House tells their operatives to "punch back twice as hard."

This is just a small preview of coming attractions, I'm afraid. When people really start getting desperate because there are no jobs and there is no obvious future... just wait. This health care thing is nothing.

I'm aware in my sphere of three upper middle class families whose money has about run out and so has their health care. One family just had a daughter diagnosed with melanoma. Their Cobra runs out next week and in the last six months they've run through their savings. They used to have a great life and it's all gone and there is no future and they are scared to death. Obama has no answer for these people. My guess is that Obama wanted more people like this dependent upon government, but the government cannot afford to give these people enough money to maintain their life and the last thing this family wants is the government's help because they know that is a dead end. The mini depression is coming.
