flag@whitehouse.gov: History?

UDPATE, from Politico:

Following a furor over how the data would be used, the White House has shut down an electronic tip box — flag@whitehouse.gov — that was set up to receive information on “fishy” claims about President Barack Obama’s health plan.

E-mails to that address now bounce back with the message: “The e-mail address you just sent a message to is no longer in service. We are now accepting your feedback about health insurance reform via http://www.whitehouse.gov/realitycheck.”

That's what I suspected.

The snitch operation isn't dead. It just has moved. The Reality Check website is handling all things fishy.

Drudge is reporting that Obama's snitch program, flag@whitehouse.gov, has been taken off life support.

He writes that Obama "PULLS PLUG ON FLAG@WHITEHOUSE.GOV... EMAILS BOUNCE BACK."

It could be that the address has been inundated with e-mail from opponents of ObamaCare.

It could be that the White House believes its Reality Check website is getting the job done.

No need to keep flag@whitehouse.gov up and running anymore.

The White House now has a more benign appearing channel in place to pick up the fishy stuff.

Other than a technical glitch, I think that's likely the reason e-mails aren't being delivered.

I'm sure it's not as if Obama decided that using the White House website to promote turning in fellow Americans to the government sets the wrong tone.

Clearly this was fubar from concept to execution.

Also, it did not do what it was supposed to, Sell the Government takeover of Healthcare to the American people.
