Wesley Cheeks, Jr.

DissentFromDayOne posts:

This video was taken on Tuesday, August 25th, 2009 at Rep. Jim Moran's (D-VA) Town Hall meeting on Obama Deathcare (Howie Dean was there too) held at South Lakes High School in Reston, VA.

Many people were left outside when the school filled to capacity. School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr. did not like my anti-Obamacare poster which used one of the gone-viral "Joker" graphics.

When I said to Officer Cheeks, "This used to be America!" his response was: "It ain't no more, OK?"

"This used to be America!"

"It ain't no more, OK?"

No.

Not OK.

Why don't we file a civil rights civil lawsuit aginst School security officer Wesley Cheeks, Jr.? Law enforcement officers are not immune from violating civil rights.

Officer Cheeks is a sworn police officer with the Fairfax County (VA) School District Police. If you would like to file a complaint against Officer Cheeks, go here:

https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/contact/MailForm.aspx?agId=2066

Complaints should be addressed to:

Major James A. Morris
Fairfax County Police Department
(703) 246-2918

Let Major Morris know that, contrary to what his officer thinks, this is STILL America, the Constitution has not yet been scrapped, the First Amendment still applies, and their oath requires that they respect the right to free speech of all Americans, even when the officer does not like the speech. The First Amendment does not just protect speech the officer on the scene agrees with, and he is not free to implement his own mini-constitutional suspension zone.

Cheeks is employed by the Fairfax County Public Schools.

Wesley Cheeks is NOT a Fairfax County police officer, he is a security officer employed by the Fairfax County Public Schools. You may go to http://www.fcps.edu to contact the School's Department of Communication and Community Outreach concerning this matter. They may also be reached by phone at 571-423-1200.

Please accept my apologies for the impersonal reply; however I am trying to give the several hundred respondents the courtesy of a timely answer.

I have emailed Kaye Kory lkkory@fcps.edu at http://www.fcps.edu as well as all of the FCPS school board members about the security guard Wesley Cheeks Jr. and the incident involving him and a protester. She replied to my email and said that officer Cheeks "is not an employee of Fairfax County Public Schools
or of Fairfax County." I also asked her if there was another Fairfax County in Virginia that I should attempt to contact. She has not replied to my questions.

Thanks, Bill, but I don't think it's necessary to contact Cheeks at his home.

I recommend using the other numbers to voice concerns about the incident.

Did anything ever happen with this situation? Did this guard's issues get addressed?
