Chris Matthews: Killing Rush Limbaugh

Even for blowhard Chris Matthews, this is a shocking comment.

Video, from Breitbart.

Transcript

CHRIS MATTHEWS: You guys see Live and Let Die, the great Bond film, with Yaphet Kotto as the bad guy, Mr. Big? Um, I, eh, at the end they jammed a big CO2 pellet in his face and he blew up.

I have to tell ya, Rush Limbaugh is beginning to look more and more like Mr. Big. And at some point, somebody's gonna jam a CO2 pellet into his head and he's gonna explode like a giant blimp. That day may come, not yet, but we'll be there to watch.

I think he's Mr. Big. I think Yaphet Kotto. Are you watching, Rush?

That's a stupid question. Why would Limbaugh be watching?

No one watches MSNBC.

Thanks to the Internet and Breitbart TV, we are treated to clips of Chris Matthews' outrageous remarks.

Sometimes, I laugh at Matthews, but I don't think this is a laughing matter at all.

Matthews' fantasizing about someone shooting Limbaugh in the head is highly inappropriate.

And the White House complains about the FOX News Channel being something other than a news network?

Matthews owes Limbaugh an apology.

MSNBC needs to issue a statement immediately, condemning Matthews' comments. The buck stops with NBC. NBC News needs to reprimand Matthews as well.

Voicing this sort of violent fantasy is really over the line.

Free speech has to be exercised responsibly.

Matthews is about as irresponsible as one can be.

Exactly - I wouldn't even have heard of this if I hadn't read your blog. How disgusting. Can you imagine if someone on Fox had said this? That's all you would be hearing about! I'm going to share your post to on blog if you don't mind.

Whenever someone on Fox News says something to this extent, they are always reprimanded. On the other hand, MSNBC says this and nobody says anything. That seems hypocritical.

The double standard and the hypocrisy is so blatant.

It's really sickening.
