Chris Matthews: Taliban, Religious Right

It was just over a week ago that Chris Matthews was fantasizing about Rush Limbaugh being shot in the head and exploding "like a giant blimp."

Yesterday, Matthews tossed out another hate-filled, irresponsible remark.

He was talking about Afghanistan with Ron Reagan Jr. and Frank Gaffney. They were talking over each other and shouting. It was a pointless, headache-inducing exchange because they weren't listening at all, only yelling, refusing to yield.

At the end of the discussion, Matthews contributed some words of “wisdom.”

Video.

Transcript, NewsBusters

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: Gentlemen, one of the great ironies of American politics is the group in this country...

FRANK GAFFNEY, CENTER FOR SECURITY POLICY: Your father would be ashamed of you.

RON REAGAN JR, AIR AMERICA RADIO: Oh, Frank, you better watch your mouth about that, Frank.

MATTHEWS: That's not fair. The group in this country that most resembles the Taliban, ironically, is the religious right.

That is absolutely disgusting, but not in the least bit surprising coming from hatemonger and Democrat hack Matthews.

"The group in this country that most resembles the Taliban, ironically, is the religious right."

That's hate speech.

I think Matthews should deliver an apology. Maybe this time he could try to appear a bit more sincere than he did when he addressed the reprehensible statements he made about Limbaugh.

I honestly don't know how the NBC News division can allow Matthews to stay on the air.

Sorry but Mathews was right.

Evangelicals want a non-secular gov't who serves only their narrow definition of religion, dismissing even other factions of Christianity (Catholics, protestants, Baptists)...which is exactly what the Taliban want in the Muslim world.
