Of those "50 million," that lack insurance there were 45,000 who died without health care. With health care, 98,000 died FROM health care because of malpractice.
The question is do we want to trust that largest corporation in the world, the U.S. Government.
Do not expect house calls anytime soon.
We have seen how well the government delivers on its promises and its bureaucracies pursue the money without giving us benefits on so many levels. Imagine another organ of the government that only ultimately must listen to the Secretary of the Treasury - another "service" of which is the IRS.

It's interesting that the 98,000 you speak of died under the reign of the Republican administration's "U.S. Government." That is exactly what this legislation is hoping to change!
There are so many great medical services that have been successfully run by the government for decades - Medicare was strongly opposed and now NO ONE wants to grow old without it - government run. Tricare is one of the greatest health systems going for military families - I know, I'm lucky enough to have it - it's government run. My co-pays for doctors (I can travel to anywhere in America, or the world if need be) is $12. My RX co-pay is $3 to $9. In Michigan, the MiChild program is for children of low to moderate income working families. It covers all the eligible children in a family for only $10 per month and provides full medical, dental and vision - government run.
Don't knock what the government can offer til you try it.
This is the another one of the big travesties of American Dream. This is the biggest warning in Modern America to those who value freedom. Escape or fight, if you can. See you on the battle field with a gun in your hand.
I downloaded all 1,990 pages of H.R. 3962. I am now more confused than ever. I attempted to search for bill payers. For example, I heard that payments to medical facilities would be reduced by 21%. That data is not included in the bill. Instead, each section refers to a nonexistant "fee schedule" to be developed by the Secretary to include a "process to validate relative value units". The Secretary may also use "analytic contractors to identify and analyze services". It appears to me that the House just signed a blank check!

PE_Zelda while he was still on the campain trail he said he would not pass a bill as President full of pork.
