Kevin Jennings, 'Romeo and Juliet' - Audio

We're learning more about Obama's "Safe Schools Czar," Kevin Jennings.

KEVIN JENNINGS: We all know what's really promoted in our schools. Heterosexuality is promoted in our schools.

Everytime kids read Romeo and Juliet, or they're encouraged to go to the prom, or whatever it is, kids are aggressively recruited to be heterosexual in this country. And you know what? That's important.

The reality is is that in schools [inaudible] sexual orientation there would have been no gay people in the first place.

But there's still people out there who believe that myth, because you know what? It's easy to panic people if you make them think that you're after their kids.

Jennings has a problem with kids reading Shakespeare?

Any way you look at it, that's bizarre.

How can Jennings say that reading about a heterosexual couple somehow promotes the behavior and is a recruiting tool but reading about a homosexual couple wouldn't serve a similar purpose?

So let me get this straight: people are "born" gay, but they can be turned straight through the school system?
