Obama: Republicans 'Do What They're Told'

Obama had a busy day on Tuesday.

No, he didn't finally get around to deciding on what to do about committing additional troops in Afghanistan. He apparently decided that can wait. Why let dealing with that get in the way with filling campaign coffers?

Obama's priority on Tuesday was fundraising and campaigning, raking in cash, not being the commander-in-chief.

He's trying to rally the faithful. It appears that even for some of them, the thrill is gone. That's a crisis that demands action.

From the New York Daily News:

The campaigner-in-chief kicked off a political blitz on Tuesday, holding three fund-raisers in Manhattan and collecting roughly $3 million for the Democratic Party.

Obama gobbled up checks of $30,400 per couple, the federal maximum, for the Democratic National Committee at the Mandarin Oriental hotel - and joked donors got off easy.

"You can't afford a fund-raiser involving [First Daughters] Malia and Sasha. I'm cheap," quipped the Columbia grad, who insists he gets "more requests" for his 11- and 8-year-old girls.

The President implored friends and foes to do more in helping him clean "up the mess that some other folks made."

"While I'm there mopping the floor, I don't want somebody standing there saying, 'You're not mopping fast enough or you're not holding the mop the right way.'"

"Grab a mop!" he demanded, eliciting applause and cheers. "Help clean up!"

Obama mixed the serious with the silly in his cash bash pep talk.

He ticked off what he viewed as his accomplishments - expanding stem cell research and passing credit card reform - as he moved to knock down critics' assertions he's done little.

"It's been nine months, you haven't solved world hunger yet," he said sarcastically in a swipe at his naysayers.

OBAMA: Sometimes Democrats can be their own worst enemies. Democrats are an opinionated bunch. You know the other side, they just kind of do what they’re told. Democrats, ya’ll thinkin’ for yourselves. I like that in you, but it’s time for us to make sure that we finish the job here, we are this close and we’ve got to be unified.

More of the "mop talk."

Lame.

Saying that Democrats can think for themselves, unlike "the other side," is such an odd shot.

How insulting for Obama to say that those on the Right just "kind of do what they're told"!

Non-Democrats aren't mindless followers. Is that how Obama explains all the opposition to his policies?

According to a CNN poll, more than half of the country disagrees with Obama on the issues that matter most to them.

That opposition is the result of those on the "other side" doing what they're told?

Really?

Who is issuing the orders?

FOX News?

I think Obama is arrogant enough to believe that no thoughtful, intelligent person could possibly disagree with him.

Such condescension is not only very unbecoming on Obama's part. It reveals that he has a twisted view of reality. He's delusional.
